Job-AI (“we”, “us”) runs the website at tryjobai.com, the Job-AI desktop app and the Job-AI Chrome extension. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email jobaisupport@gmail.com.
The ways you can use Job-AI
The desktop app runs on your own computer. Your CV, saved logins and application data stay on your machine, not on our servers. When the app tailors a CV or answers a screening question it sends only the job text and the relevant details to our secure service to generate the text.
The Chrome extension works the same way inside your browser. The details are in the next section.
The website account (the matches area) is different: to match jobs to you we store your details on our servers, as described below. You choose which one to use.
The Chrome extension
What stays in your browser. Your licence key, profile, NHS / Trac details, CV, the tailored CVs it makes, your list of jobs and a short activity log are saved in your own Chrome, on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers. Removing the extension deletes them.
What is sent to Job-AI, and why.
- Your licence key and a random device ID, to check your licence is active and to stop the free trial being claimed more than once on the same device.
- The job text and the relevant parts of your CV and profile, so our AI service can score the job, tailor your CV, write a cover letter or NHS supporting statement, and answer form questions. This is used only to write your application. We keep a count of these requests for billing and limits, not their content.
- Your job search terms, to find matching jobs on company career sites.
- Questions you ask the Ask Job-AI assistant, with a summary of your agents (for example which are running and why jobs were skipped). This summary does not include your name, email, licence key or CV.
What is sent to job sites and employers. When the extension applies for you, it sends your application (your name, contact details, tailored CV and answers) to that job site or employer, through your own account, exactly as if you applied by hand. It only does this for jobs you asked it to find.
What it does not do. It does not read your browsing history, see or store your passwords, run advertising or analytics trackers, or work on websites other than the job sites it applies on. It does not load code from the internet; everything it runs is inside the extension.
Permissions. Storage saves your details on your device. Tabs and scripting open job pages and fill in application forms. Access to specific sites (Trac, Reed, LinkedIn, company career sites and tryjobai.com) lets it apply on those sites and reach our service.
The use of information received through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We never sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to decide creditworthiness.
What the website account collects
- Your email, when you sign in (through Google, or a sign-in link).
- Your CV and the profile you enter (name, phone, country, location, work eligibility, target roles).
- How you use the site, such as the searches you run, plus a cookie that keeps you signed in.
How we use it
- To match you to relevant jobs and show them to you.
- To read your CV once and suggest the roles that fit you.
- To operate, secure and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Job-AI, and share only what each needs:
- Google, to let you sign in.
- Our AI provider, which generates tailored CVs, cover letters and form answers from the job text and CV details the app or extension sends.
- Our hosting and email providers, to run the service and send account and sign-in emails.
- Job sources (such as Reed, Adzuna and public company career pages) that we read jobs from. When you click Apply now you are taken to that employer or job board.
- Stripe, if you buy a subscription, to process the payment.
How long we keep it
Data kept by the desktop app or the Chrome extension stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall. For the website account, we keep your account, CV and profile while your account is active. You can ask us to delete them at any time by emailing jobaisupport@gmail.com, and we will remove them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing jobaisupport@gmail.com. If you are in the UK or EU you have these rights under the GDPR.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one to remember where you first came to us from, so we can see which channels bring people to Job-AI. We do not use advertising cookies.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and access controls. No service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Continued use of Job-AI means you accept the current version.
